Golden Pu-erh is a tea that has aged for five years in Yunnan province. This aging in a relatively humid environment soften its elementary character compared to young Pu-Erh (aged about 1 year). As with wine, aged Pu-Erh is more prized than young Pu-Erh. Interestingly, the taste of Pu-Erh becomes sweeter as it ages.
