Moonlight white tea is a special style of tea. Although it is classified as a white tea, it is sometimes considered a Pu-erh tea. The name Moonlight White comes from the fact that this tea is not sun-dried. This makes the drying period longer and results in a higher level of oxidation. We thus obtain the sweetness of white tea mixed with the richness of black tea. A very pleasant blend on the palate.

This white tea is a mixture of silver buds and young leaves almost black on one side, but white and covered with a silvery down on the other. This dark color on the back of the leaves comes from the longer oxidation period.

You can choose to let this tea age for a few months or even a few years. The leaves will become darker and the flavor of the tea richer. As it ages, it will come closer and closer to the flavor of black tea.

This Moonlight white tea (Yue Guang Bai) comes from Yunnan province in China
